Programming Projects
Work on side projects to enforce learned concepts
The best way to describe my workflow when engaged is as a 'curious obsession' where the more questions arise the more I lose myself until an answer is found. This characteristic manifests when learning or using new technologies, languages or processes such as when I worked on the front-end on one of my projects, the Political Gerrymandering Analyzer. It has guided me in my time as both a Teaching and Research Assistant at Stony Brook University as well as when I entered the University's Annual Game Programming Competition.
My first experiece with development within a team came with the development of the mentioned web application for analyzing a state's previously proposed or enacted political plan for determining 'fairness'. That is whether or not a plan may contain partisan gerrymanders to give an advantage to a political party. It was a four person project where I took on the role of the front-end developer, the details of which can be found here. My level of enthusiasm during development was met equally by other members ultimately leading us to finish in first in the GUI, Project Design, Implementation, and Presentation phase and first overall of 7 teams.
Currently I am looking to join a team who shares my passion in the form of a software engineering internship. I am familiar with a number of programming languages and can adapt to and learn new technologies if the need arises. I look foward to providing meaningful contribution in this journey.
